We start our church meetings with conversation and appetizers after 4:30. A special dinner follows at 5:30. We rotate our time between two homes - the Toews' & Evanows as noted above.
Everyone enjoys contributing to the meal in the form of juice, salads, main course or dessert. Our dinners often reflect delicious varieties from the cultures represented. This is followed by Bible study and prayer for each other, our families and friends. Sig & others do the teaching for which notes have been provided in advance for personal reading & reflection. We aim to close our evening by 8:00 pm but welcome further visiting for those who are able to stay. Anyone who arrives by bus is given a ride home.
In addition to our Saturday meetings, we enjoy reaching out to others together. Local activities have included packing and moving, carolling and provision of food for those who are ill and gifts and treats for the youth in our community. Our international support includes widows and orphans in Ukraine through Hungry for Life and orphans in China through International China Concern.
