Simple-On-Line

Well, life has again changed...

In order to support our government's efforts to encourage social distancing, we will not organize an outside walk together.  But this is a wonderful thing about simplechurches, we have an ability to pivot with great ease, and continue to find a way to be the church together.

So, for this Sunday, we will meet together on-line at 9:30 am where Jolie and Andy will guide us through a simple time of worship.

Two Ways to Join

Option One: Click on this link to be taken to our YouTube live stream.  (If you arrive early, a notice will appear on the screen telling you how long until the "live event" begins.  If 9:30 arrives and the event does not automatically appear, refresh your browser.)

Option Two: Find us at 9:30 am on our Instagram live stream https://www.instagram.com/simplechurches/

Here’s What You Can Expect

  • At 9:30am we will have a song playing for a few minutes so that the “stragglers” can link in.
  • We will light our candle as a reminder that Jesus, who is the Light of the World is with us.
  • We will read our scripture for the week.  This week, fittingly, the lectionary Psalm is Psalm 23.
  • Andy will reflect briefly on the Psalm. And yes, he means briefly.
  • We will read the scripture a second time.
  • Jolie will pray for us, our city, our world, the leaders who are serving us.
  • We will have communion together. (It’s his food that is real food).
  • We will blow out the candle and say goodbye.

Here’s How You Can Prepare

  • Have Psalm 23 ready so you can read along.
  • Set out communion supplies. If you don’t have juice, improvise. Jesus gets it.
  • Have a candle ready that you can light at home.
  • Send links to any friend that might be looking for spiritual food in these days.

A Final Word

Dear friends, simplechurches was made for moments like these. Nothing fancy here. Just the church being church. As always, gathering around Jesus engaged in the sacred rhythms the church has always engaged in.

This weekend, we do this virtually :)
