christmas worship

transfixed in worship: it happened after cookies and carols!

we were packing everything into Andy's van and our car. First all the boxes from the kitchen and the sanctuary are placed at the entrance, and then after all are accounted for, the cars are then loaded for the home trip.

I was coming from the kitchen when I saw young SAM grab a nativity ornament, that was in the foyer.
My heart dropped. these are not ours.
what if he breaks it. ....but someone held me back.

then SAM cradled the carving of a shepherd in his hands and began to sing.

His eyes were transfixed on the cradle and the words, very softly echoed through the foyer.
"I love you, LORD JESUS, look down from the sky ..etc..
. my heart melted, as I heard the song of adoration from the lips of a little 3yr old boy.
Oh the wonder of it all.

He was on his knees, singing toward the nativity. He did not see me. As he finished the verse,
he gently put back the shepherd and went on his way.

My life was transformed that minute,
as I too had to worship the KING of KINGS,
a burning sensation, one of gratitude for what CHRIST has done for me!

As I recount the memory I remember what JESUS said,
Children will sing my praises! Mark 10:15 Luke 18: 17

Christmas worship

Dear Sig: Thank you for sharing this touching scene of Sam. As grandparents who do not have many opportunities to see him, this means so much to us - we both had tears as we read this today. Wayne & Lois
