Every new year's the preparation is the same! LORD how can I be of use to you this year, where I know there will be sadness and rejoicing?

Charles Stanley, in this month's "In Touch Magazine" states there are 13 barometers to measure your spiritual growth.
1. a hunger to know GOD more
2. a desire to know the truth of the WORD.
3. an increasing awareness of our sinfulness
4. a quick response to sin, involving genuine repentance
5. joy in the midst of intense spiritual battle
6. understanding trials and temptations as opportunities for growth
7. viewing service to GOD as an honor, not a burden (time, talents, at our cost)
8. viewing everything,...both good and bad.. as coming from the LORD
9. FAITH to ask GOD for bigger things, but allowing the HOLY SPIRIT to guide the requests
10. an eagerness (key) to share CHRIST with others.
11. an earnest desire to give to the LORD's work: our checkbooks are windows into our soul
12. an increasing awareness of GOD in every area of our lives
13. the priority of a personal devotional life

we need to function on all 13 cylinders, using the HOLY SPIRIT as our fuel.
so I will paste this list into my prayer book, and begin to seek the LORD in all these.

Happy New Year!

that was

really helpful Sig. Thanks for posting.
What an easy way to say, 'search my heart oh God.' I'd like to pray through that.
