"Be Still and Know that I am God."

[ Blog ]
God has been teaching and reminding and revealing many things. One thing he keeps reminding me of, is the fact that HE is the Lord and NO ONE else. I was just reading one of Andy's blogs about David recognizing the Lord as King. It is so so true. I noticed how lately I have become more anxious about life and how I have in some ways been striving to protect myself and prepare for the future. So when I read the blog I was hit by this and once again reminded of who is REALLY in control and sovereign over all things. I awoke this morning to my brother inviting a homeless man to come into our garage and collect the mound of bottles we have. Even in that circumstance I was reminded of how God is constantly caring for us and providing for us. He blessed that man today. I like that. So why do we worry? why do we feel we must have some control? it gets us nowhere. The Lord has also been speaking to me about faith. He showed me the verse: "In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." Once again he asks me to just trust him, to BE STILL AND KNOW that HE IS GOD. yes yes yes. Not only does that take a weight off of our own shoulders, it is a weapon that protects us in a world that says the exact opposite. The Lord IS King. |

Relationship Above All Else
Looking into His eyes solves SO MANY of our "huge" problems! When we become open to receiving from Him He sets our hearts so at ease!
as the old hymn goes:
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.
WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS! all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
